Right Now: April 2017

I'm listening:   to Thing 1 trying to engage me in conversation.   There are some things this kid never outgrew and one is the sense of timing when wanting to chat right as I take a phone call or in this case, dust off the blog and try to recap this month's adventures.

Oh well, I really shouldn't complain, as he tends to spend a lot of his free time in his own quiet pursuits.    I was excited when this past month he agreed to go see a movie with me... Beauty and the Beast...at the local theater.   This theater underwent a major renovation about a year ago, and now features the assigned seating, food service and the ever so comfortable recliners.   I enjoyed watching his eyes open wide with excitement as he shook his head "I really should get out more often".  Yes son, yes you should...

'm loving:   looking at the pictures taken this month...

You know it's going to be a crazy good month when this is the first picture you take of the month
One of the neighbor ladies turned 50 and at her party, they had a photo booth..
proving that one is never too old to ham it up for a picture (or two, or twelve...)

You see, crammed into this month was Easter,

With all the usual treats, and some bittersweet good-byes...Vannie is moving to CA to pursue her career in sound engineering.

A girl's get away to Vegas
While it is said what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,
we all know I can't stay quiet on anything...I'll spill a few of our secrets..
We scored free drinks on the outbound flight...
...to shut us up or applaud our shenanigans...hard to say...

We told alternative facts in order to score more free drinks and desserts
Noticing a theme, yeah me too.. Bonus Score:  Wearing a fabulous hat...

We snapped pictures of an aging celebrity  even when told no pictures...
*aka Shirley from Laverne and Shirley
Questionable fashion choices were made...
and accessories were misplaced..
and later found...
J. you are forever a member of our tribe for helping locate A's misplaced shades..
I Risked it all to win big...
(if by all you mean $5...)

I shall plead the fifth on driving-dining -and near naked men...

We met Elvis...
not once..
but twice...

and in the end..I am reminded of the quote that
we need old friends to help us grow old
and new friends to  help us stay young...
And a family wedding...
While the ladies all returned to Colorado (or in J's case, TX)
I took a slight detour to AZ,

where I was fortunate enough to watch my  cousin A. walk down the aisle and get married.
This woman has had so much loss in the past few years, her sister, her mom and now in February her dad, it was so nice to spend time celebrating a happy event!

I'm needing:  nothing...really, how often can we say that?    But seriously, I sit here, pondering this past month and think is there anything I need to be doing that I didn't do?
Can't really think of anything:   I've added a little more exercise to my routine (water walking has helped with my stiff joints), I've played in the craft room,

I've read a bit, and clearly I've spent time in the company of friends and family.   I even snuck in a couple job interviews and hopefully will have a full time job come next school  year.   April indeed has been a very good month for

I'm feeling:   balanced...which is a very good feeling indeed!
